There are some advantages to living in today’s global village. I'm rarely homesick because I feel at home. Now and then I miss people but not too much when I can contact most of them on email and receive a reply the same day. But culture and products? Just the other day, while walking along a route I rarely take, I came across an Indian restaurant. They are far from commonplace in Spain so it was a real bonus to find one just two minutes from home.
On a normal day I get up, make coffee and go to my computer to read the latest news, mainly sport in the Scotsman, Herald and from the BBC. Just a few years ago I relied on friends and family to send me these supplements every few weeks.
Must go as I'm about to make a cup of Tetley tea bought from from my local Mercadona supermarket before catching up on the UK snooker championship on Eurosport. Now if only I could find a place to buy Irn Bru around here.
